Volunteer with a Committee
Interested in getting more involved in the neighborhood? Volunteering for one of the committees below is a great way to do that. If you’re interested in any of the initiatives below, please let us know by contacting hhna@gmail.com.
BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE
The mission of the beautification committee is to promote and facilitate the execution of beautification initiatives for the Hall High neighborhood. The Yard-of-the-Month program, the semi-annual neighborhood clean-ups, the painted retaining walls on our east and west boundaries of the neighborhood, campus clean-ups, adoption of Meriwether Park, and planting flowering bulbs are just a few of the beautification projects we support.
SAFETY COMMITTEE
The Safety committee provides the official communication between the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) and the Hall High neighborhood. The Crime Watch Coordinator is responsible for attending the quarterly LRPD NW Division meetings, building relations with LRPD, and advising HHNA members of any warnings or incidents in the neighborhood.
WELCOME COMMITTEE
We want to welcome all new residents to the Hall High neighborhood, encourage them to become a member of HHNA by providing meaningful information, and thanking them for investing in our neighborhood.
GROUNDS COMMITTEE
NEW IN 2022! During the growing season, the grounds committee ensures that public spaces are mowed by Public Works in a timely manner, maintains the sidewalk areas in front of the painted retaining walls, and ensures a quick-action-team response to graffiti in the neighborhood. Now accepting new committee members and volunteers.
SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE
NEW IN 2022! In years past, HHNA has participated with the City of Little Rock in the neighborhood National Night Out (NNO) program with our very own block party complete with hotdogs, snacks, a firetruck, and LRPD personnel. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Little Rock typically holds this annual event on the first Tuesday in October. Additionally, there has been discussion of a neighborhood gathering – maybe a short parade, on St. Patrick’s Day, especially since we have a neighborhood street called Shamrock. We are seeking a committee chairperson and volunteers to help organize HHNA special events of this type.
